I am not sure but I think the onboard Wifi-Adapter dindn't support Monitor mode so you need a extern USB-Wifi-Adapter like ALFA or the TP-Link TL-WN722N with Monitor Mode support.
The Problem is that there are no working driver for the BPI-M3 at the moment.
